2020 is a year that will be remembered in the history of humanity even after centuries pass. The World Health Organization declared the New Coronavirus outbreak as a pandemic on March 11, 2020. The first case was reported in Turkey on March 13, 2020. It was announced that all schools affiliated with the Ministry of National Education would close on March 25, 2020, and universities would close on March 26, 2020. With this pandemic, large scale closure measures were taken not only in Turkey, but also globally and these measures continue to be taken from time to time. [1]

Along with other sectors, the education sector was also affected by the pandemic. While students and teachers were wondering how education would continue, parents wanted their children not to fall behind their peers in education. We needed a solution, but what was it?

With the help of e-learning, which has become widespread for the last 20 years, the education sector tried to prevent learning from being interrupted. For that matter, by creating numerous learning content, teachers and students were brought together via virtual classrooms. Thanks to advances in technology, not only students but also people from different segments of society were just a click away from these contents.

At this “post-pandemic period”, considering the constantly increasing number of virtual classrooms and learning contents, it is estimated that distance learning will be more popular and efficient than before. Accordingly, several public and private institutions have increased their efforts regarding this matter. Moreover it is expected in the new period that distance learning will be preferred to traditional face-to-face education in some fields. For example it is believed that we will turn to distance learning when it comes to foreign language learning. [2]

Bear in mind! Learning is a lifelong process.
