The Prisoners Of War in The Red Crescent Archive Documents
This work is prepared with an aim to shed a light on the Ottoman Red Crescent Society’s activities with regards to the Ottoman soldiers who became prisoners of war and the prisoners of wars, who were held by the Ottoman State. Samples are singled out from the thousands of documents about the prisoners of war held in the Turkish Red Crescent Archive, which is one of the institutions that possess crucial archive documents in our country. It is intended in publishing them in this work that these documents will guide future studies. Documents about the prisoners of war, particularly the letters written by the prisoners of war, contain significant reminders for us about the humanitarian aspect of war.
